 American Bodyguard Receives Honor of Knighthood

Royal Palace of Godollo, Hungary (October 2, 2010) - Saturday was a regal day at the Royal Palace which hosted the annual Knighting ceremony of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta (KMFAP).  During this ceremony, nine international figures received full honors as Knights of Malta, and one American received his Knighthood in the elite Knights of Cyprus.  Sir Karl de la Guerra of the United States, became a Knight of Cyprus during the two hour ceremony which was attended by VIP's from around the world and numerous Knights and Dames of the Order.

The ceremony lasted over an hour, attended by VIP's from across Europe with de la Guerra being the only American in attendance.  It included a great deal of historic content, such as these words that have been recited at Knighting ceremonies for centuries and will always remain with de la Guerra,

"Rise Knight, and forever be known to the world as...Sir Karl".  How cool is That !!!!

 "In the near nine hundred-year history of the Knights of Cyprus, there have been less than nine hundred knights in this order.  I am now the 32nd living Knight of Cyprus and I intend on honoring their place for me inside this historic and noble order."
