Bullet proof hard armored plates made of ceramic and dyneema are protective plates that are designed to insert into both the front and back pockects of your external vest. These plates increase your protection level dramatically when used in conjunction with a Level III-A vest. Hard armored plates made from ceramic alumina are heavier than dyneema plates although ceramic is one of the only hard plates that provides you with Level IV  protection which can with stand up to .30 caliber armor piercing rounds.
